Markets: Kiosk

Self serve kiosks, ticket machines, ATMs are everywhere these days and what may seem like a rather benign environment in the beginning can quickly become one of the most challenging applications for a touch screen. Vandalism may be the most extreme challenge faced by public kiosks, but there are plenty of other requirements from general reliability to extreme environmental tolerances and outdoor operational challenges.

  • Durable glass surface;
  • Vandal resistant with enhanced substrates;
  • Public safety — smashed glass/LCD is kept inside kiosk;
  • Pressure activated — not affected by rain, dirt, food, etc.;
  • NEMA sealable.

The reliable ULTRA glass armoured touch sensor utilizes industry standard 4, 8 or 5-wire technology for simple installation and field maintenance. They comply with UL 60950 safety standards (impact breakage from accidental or malicious activity) and are IP66/NEMA 4 sealable against liquids and other contaminants. These capabilities help ensure continuous touch screen operation over extended periods, in a wide range of operating (-15°C to +70°C) and storage (-50°C to + 80°C) temperatures, in some of the harshest public kiosk environments.
